Scaffolding in Rye.

Rye is beautiful and awkward in equal measure, which is exactly the kind of scaffolding we like. We work throughout the town, Rye Harbour, Camber and the Romney Marsh villages beyond.

Much of central Rye is listed or in a conservation area — cobbled streets, timber frames, clay peg tiles and roofs that will not tolerate careless loading. We use non-marking protection, designed load spreading and hand-carried materials as standard here rather than as an extra.

Mermaid Street and the surrounding lanes cannot take a scaffold wagon at all, so materials go in by hand or by small van. Highways licences, conservation officer expectations and neighbour access agreements are all part of the job, and we sort them before we quote a date.

Outside the conservation core, the bungalows and modern houses around Rye and Camber are strong solar territory with simple, fast access.

Every scaffold we put up in Rye is erected by CISRS carded scaffolders, built to TG20:21 compliant configurations or a bespoke engineered design, tagged on handover and inspected every seven days while it stands. We carry £10m public liability insurance and provide RAMS on request. Prices are fixed in writing before we book a date, so what you are quoted is what you pay.
